Abstract: |
To assess the performances of CBFM, the study articulates the investigation along 3 dimensions, namely the social, economic, and biological outcomes. The monitoring of these is made possible by the simultaneous use of two methodological tools, namely a household survey and a biological monitoring scheme. The household survey consists of a comprehensive socioeconomic questionnaire administered to a randomized selection of households residing in villages adjacent to 12 CBFM fisheries under investigation. It is rolled out over all study sites and aims at monitoring altogether social, economic, and biological performances. Data collection for the household survey is scheduled to be implemented 3 times over the two years of the study. The biological monitoring consists in the monitoring of daily fish catches of a selection of fishers operating in the CBFM fisheries. Associated data collection is implemented using logbooks and is planned year-round over the 2 years of the project |
