Abstract: |
With the intention of advancing the study of political discourse on social media and other topics permeated by politics, we present a Telegram dataset focused on the 2024 US Presidential Election, comprising over 43 thousand chats and 1 billion messages, and featuring chats' details, profile pictures, messages, and user information. This data is complemented by a record of inter-chat connections, where chats link to each other through mentions, links, text links, or forwards. This resource represents the largest public Telegram dataset to date, offering an unprecedented opportunity to study political discussion on Telegram. |

Notes: |
All scraped_part_* files must be downloaded and concatenated into one .tar.zst file. After decompressing this file, all SQLite files will be accessible, however, some columns were zlib compressed. Additionally, note that chats.db consins a record of inter-chat connections. Our GitHub repository (see the alternative URL in the metadata) contains a link to download individual .db files and instructions to get started with our dataset. For more details on the collection method, the schema, and to access an exploratory analysis, refer to our data papers (see the related publications in the metadata). |
