However, adipocytes are fragile and have been very difficult to separate y size, making studies of size-based effects difficult. We have developed a microfluidic device, adapting the Deterministic Lateral Displacement method, that uses arrays of pillars to separate cells, to work on this large cells. The replication data contains microscopy images of adipocytes post sorting, but still inside microfluidics device plus Coulter Counter measurements of diameter and volume performed on the same cells.
<sumDscr/></stdyInfo><method><dataColl><sources/></dataColl><anlyInfo/></method><dataAccs><setAvail/><useStmt/><notes type="DVN:TOU" level="dv"><a href="http://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0">CC0 1.0</a></notes></dataAccs><othrStdyMat><relPubl><citation><titlStmt><titl>Size Separation of Adipocytes - to be submitted to Communication Biology</titl></titlStmt><biblCit>Size Separation of Adipocytes - to be submitted to Communication Biology</biblCit></citation></relPubl></othrStdyMat></stdyDscr><otherMat ID="f13574183" URI="https://dataverse.harvard.edu/api/access/datafile/13574183" level="datafile"><labl>Coulter_counter_sorted_adipocytes.xlsx</labl><txt>Results of Coulter Counter measurement of adipocyte cell diameter and area</txt><notes level="file" type="DATAVERSE:CONTENTTYPE" subject="Content/MIME Type">application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.spreadsheetml.sheet</notes></otherMat><otherMat ID="f13574184" URI="https://dataverse.harvard.edu/api/access/datafile/13574184" level="datafile"><labl>Data_description_adipocyte_sorting_DLD.xlsx</labl><txt>A guide to the data in this datset</txt><notes level="file" type="DATAVERSE:CONTENTTYPE" subject="Content/MIME Type">application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.spreadsheetml.sheet</notes></otherMat><otherMat ID="f13574185" URI="https://dataverse.harvard.edu/api/access/datafile/13574185" level="datafile"><labl>fat_cells_DLD_device_large_cell_outlet.tif</labl><txt>Adipocytes post separation imaged in large device outlet</txt><notes level="file" type="DATAVERSE:CONTENTTYPE" subject="Content/MIME Type">image/tiff</notes></otherMat><otherMat ID="f13574187" URI="https://dataverse.harvard.edu/api/access/datafile/13574187" level="datafile"><labl>fat_cells_DLD_device_middle_cell_outlet.tif</labl><txt>Adipocytes post separation imaged in middle device outlet</txt><notes level="file" type="DATAVERSE:CONTENTTYPE" subject="Content/MIME Type">image/tiff</notes></otherMat><otherMat ID="f13574186" URI="https://dataverse.harvard.edu/api/access/datafile/13574186" level="datafile"><labl>fat_cells_DLD_device_small_cell_outlet.tif</labl><txt>Adipocytes post separation imaged in small device outlet</txt><notes level="file" type="DATAVERSE:CONTENTTYPE" subject="Content/MIME Type">image/tiff</notes></otherMat></codeBook>
