We investigate the interplay of (non-)monetary incentives on U.S. state, city and utility-related policy levels. For doing so, we deploy fuzzy-set Qualitative Comparative Analysis (fsQCA) of BEV policies in 16 cities in the U.S. to identify policy configurations that promote BEV uptake. We provide a first-ever study to systematically evaluate BEV policy bundles across different U.S. policy levels. The dataset includes two files. File 1 contains data for the total cost of ownership calculations for a battery electric vehicle and an internal combustion engine vehicle for each of the 16 cases. File 2 provide data regarding all policies, BEV stock numbers and BEV targets included the analysis.</dcterms:description><dcterms:subject>Social Sciences</dcterms:subject><dcterms:date>2026-02-09</dcterms:date><dcterms:contributor>Held, Tobias</dcterms:contributor><dcterms:dateSubmitted>2026-02-03</dcterms:dateSubmitted><dcterms:license>CC0 1.0</dcterms:license></metadata>
