The locations were Kawanda (0° 25’ N, 32° 31’ E, elevation 1190 m above sea level) and Kachwekano (1° 15′ S, 29° 57′ E, elevation 2200 m above sea level) in Uganda, and Kagera (2° 08' S, 33° 26' E, elevation 1320 m above sea level) in Tanzania. From the 33 field trials, GY (kg ha-1) was available from 32 trials, with laboratory evaluation of Fe and Zn (mg kg-1) from 29 trials and CKT (min) from 14 trials.
