The approach constitutes a feasible method to incorporate equilibrium restrictions from the model in correlational and structural empirical studies of legislatures, avoiding the computation of actual equilibria. It also yields a number of theoretical insights on the centrality of equilibrium legislative decisions, the relation of such equilibrium outcomes with social choice solution sets, and the effect of changes on voting and proposal-making rights. These theoretical results highlight the broad conclusion that the proper functioning of democratic institutions is highly contingent on other institutional features besides the assignment of voting rights."},"citation:keyword":[{"citation:keywordValue":"Legislative bargaining"},{"citation:keywordValue":"Proposal rights"},{"citation:keywordValue":"Voting rights"},{"citation:keywordValue":"Core"},{"citation:keywordValue":"Uncovered sets"},{"citation:keywordValue":"Equilibrium bounds"}],"citation:producer":{"citation:producerName":"Tasos Kalandrakis","citation:producerAffiliation":"University of Rochester","citation:producerURL":"http://www.rochester.edu/college/faculty/kalandrakis/"},"author":{"citation:authorName":"Kalandrakis, Tasos","citation:authorAffiliation":"University of Rochester","authorIdentifierScheme":"ORCID","authorIdentifier":"0000-0002-2959-9390"},"citation:notesText":"This dataset underwent an independent verification process that replicated the tables and figures in the primary article.
