The Leon Levy Expedition to Ashkelon is a project of the Harvard Museum of the Ancient Near East generously underwritten by Leon Levy, Shelby White, and the Leon Levy Foundation. Excavation began in 1985 under the direction of Harvard Professor Lawrence E. Stager (1985–2016) and later under the co-direction of Daniel M. Master (2007–2016). Excavation was completed in 2016, and publications of the results are ongoing. These images and drawings represent the raw digital scans and digital documents throughout all years of the excavation. The physical version of the images or drawings, when available, are archived at the Harvard Museum of the Ancient Near East.

These images and the accompanying underlying data represent several phases of database development and several visions of archaeological recording over decades of work. Some of the data files stored here are works in progress that will be edited for the final publication through further study of the original objects or original contexts.
