was georeferenced to common points located on the following two scanned, georeferenced paper maps published by the U.S. Army Map Service in 1944 at a scale of 1:10,000: Town Plan of Roma (Rome) North Sheet and Town Plan of Roma (Rome) South Sheet. These maps were scanned at 300 dpi and then georeferenced to the four latitude, longitude marks (closest to the corners) in the 'Monte Mario Rome Italy I' coordinate system. The RMS error for the scanned North map is 35.7237 meters and for the South map is 4.5235 meters. A world file (.tfwx) and an .aux.xml file were automatically generated and saved in association with the digital TIFF image. See 'Horizontal Accuracy' for the RMS error of this TIFF image.
