Vector shapefiles were downloaded from the San Francisco Enterprise GIS website which is the official public portal for the city's geospatial data. Additional shapefiles from ESRI Data and Maps 2007 and NOAA Vector Shoreline were used if necessary. For this image, the following vector shapefile(s) were used as base maps for reference: ESRI Data\n& Maps 2007 : U.S. and Canada Streets (1:100,000); National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration chart : National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration chart : San Francisco to Point Arena, Chart #18649 (NOAA EVS (vector shoreline) 1823gd20) (2001) (1:40,000). The image was georeferenced to and stored in the NAD83 State Plane California Zone III (feet) (FIPS 0403) coordinate system. ArcMap 9.2 software was utilized for the georeferencing process, and a .tfwx (world file) and an .aux.xml file\nwere automatically generated and saved in association with the digital image.
