Vector shapefiles were downloaded from the Pennsylvania Spatial Data Access (PASDA) website which is the official public portal for geospatial data. For this image, the following vector shapefile(s) were used as base maps for reference: ESRI Data\n& Maps 2005 : U.S. Water Bodies (1:24,000); Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, Bureau of Planning and Research, Cartographic Information Division's PennDOT - Pennsylvania Municipality boundaries 2007 (1:24,000). In addition to vector data, this image was also linked to the georeferenced, adjacent sheet from the same map: Fac simile of Reed's map : to the honourable House of Representatives of the freemen of Pennsylvania this map of the city and liberties of Philadelphia with the catalogu\ne of purchasers is humbly dedicated by their most obedient humble servant, Iohn Reed [Sheet 1].The image was georeferenced to and stored in the NAD83 State Plane Pennsylvania South (feet) coordinate system. ArcMap 9.2 software was utilized for the georeferencing process, and a .tfwx (world file) and an .aux.xml file were automatically generated and saved in association with the digital image.
