Eddy. It was published by J. Disturnell in 1836. Scale [1:190,080]. The image inside the map neatline is georeferenced to the surface of the earth and fit to the Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) Zone 18N NAD83 projection. All map collar and inset information is also available as part of the raster image, including any inset maps, profiles, statistical tables, directories, text, illustrations, index maps, legends, or other information associated with the principal map. This map\nshows features such as roads, turnpikes and toll locations, railroads, drainage, canals, selected public buildings (industry locations, taverns, etc.), selected private residences with names of landowners, cities and towns, county and state boundaries, and more. Relief is shown by hachures. This layer is part of a selection of digitally scanned and georeferenced historic maps from The Harvard Map Collection as part of the Imaging the Urban Environment project. Maps selected for this project represent major urban areas and cities of the world, at various time periods. These maps typically portray both natural and manmade features at a large scale. Vector shapefiles were downloaded from various sources including: the New York State GIS, the New Jersey DEP Bureau of GIS, and ESRI. For this image, the following vector shapefile(s) were used as base maps for reference: New York State County Boundaries (clipped to shorelines) (shorelines 1:250,000; other 1:24,000) (1999); New York State Office of Cyber Security and Critical Infrastructure\nCoordination (CSCIC) CityTown (2007); ESRI Data & Maps 2005 : U.S. Rivers and Streams (1:24,000); and New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection NJDEP County Boundaries for the State of New Jersey (2003). The majority of the NYGIS vector data is stored in the NAD83 UTM Zone 18N (meters) coordinate system, and this digital image was subsequently georeferenced to the same projection. ArcMap 9.2 software was utilized for the georeferencing process, and a .tfwx (world file) and an .aux.xml fi\nle was automatically generated and saved in association with the digital image.
