This image consists of images of a two sheet source map that have been stitched together using image editing software to create one image. Manuscript copy of a map. Copied by [Whlkington?] in 1857. The image inside the map neatline is georeferenced to the surface of the earth and fit to the Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) Zone 19N NAD 1983 coordinate system. All map collar and inset information is also available as part of the raster image, including any inset maps, profiles, statistical tables, directories, text, illustrations, index maps, legends, or other information associated with the principal map. This map shows features such as roads, drainage, selected buildings, fortification, ship and troop movements, and places of military interest for the Battle of Quebec, 1759, and more. This layer is part of a selection of digitally scanned and georeferenced historic maps from The Harvard Map Collection as part of the Imaging the Urban Environment project. was georeferenced to common points located on the following scanned, georeferenced topographic map(s): Quebec 21L/14b Edition 2; Montmorency 21L/14g Edition 1; and Ville-Guay 14L/14a Edition 1 from the 1:25,000 topographic series published in the early 1960's by the Canadian Army Service Establishment R.C.E. These topographic quadrangles were scanned at 300 dpi and then georeferenced in the NAD 1927 UTM 19N coordinate system to the four corner sets of latitude, latitude tic marks. The RMS error for [Quebec 21L/14b] is 2.26582 meters; for [Montmorency 21L/14g] is 3.46332 meters; and for [Ville-Guay 14L/14a] is 1.96974 meters. The digital TIFF image of the historic map was subsequently georeferenced in the NAD 1983 UTM 19N coordinate system. A world file (.tfwx) and an .aux.xml file were automatically generated and saved in association with the digital TIFF image. See 'Horizontal Accuracy' for the RMS error of this specific TIFF.
