It is part of a two sheet map set: [Carte du Peru]. It was published sur le Quay de la Megisserie avec privilege du Roy in 1739. Scale [ca. 1:195,000]. Covers the territory of the former Inca Empire, South America. This layer is image 2 of 2 total images of the two sheet source map representing the southern portion of the map. Map in French and Spanish. The image inside the map neatline is georeferenced to the surface of the earth and fit to a non-standard 'World Sinusoidal' projection with the central meridian at 75 degrees west. All map collar and inset information is also available as part of the raster image, including any inset maps, profiles, statistical tables, directories, text, illustrations, index maps, legends, or other information associated with the principal map. For this image, the following vector shapefiles were used as a base map for reference: \"Peru_lakes95\", \"Peru_cities94\", \"Chile_lakes95\", \"Chile_cities1k_10k95\", and \"Bolivia_lakes94\" published in 2003 from Macon World Complete DVD. Because the Ferro Prime Meridian was used as the Prime Meridian for the coordinate system in the production of the original map, the vector data was projected to a non-standard 'World Sinusoidal' projection with the central meridian at 75 degrees west. The image was subsequently georeferenced to the same projection. A world file (.j2w) was automatically generated and saved in association with the digital image. See 'Horizontal Accuracy' for the RMS error of this image. Please note that the projection will need to be defined and modified by the user in order to display the image with other projected data (see 'Horizontal Coordinate System') and the world file will need to be stored in the same root directory as the image. Note: This image may appear distorted in some common two-dimensional projections, such as Plate Carree, or in geographic projections."}]}},"files":[{"description":"","label":"JPEG2000","restricted":false,"version":1,"datasetVersionId":13009,"dataFile":{"id":2333386,"persistentId":"","filename":"JPEG2000","contentType":"application/octet-stream","friendlyType":"Unknown","filesize":0,"description":"","storageIdentifier":"http://hgl.harvard.edu:8080/HGL/jsp/HGL.jsp?action=VColl&VCollName=G5311_S12_1739_B81_SH2","rootDataFileId":-1,"md5":"","checksum":{"type":"MD5","value":""},"tabularData":false,"creationDate":"2015-04-08","publicationDate":"2011-12-12","lastUpdateTime":"2011-12-13T18:18:53Z","fileAccessRequest":false}}]}}}
