Scale [ca. 1:8,250]. The image inside the map neatline is georeferenced to the surface of the earth and fit to the Greek Geodetic Reference System (also called the Greek Grid). All map collar and inset information is also available as part of the raster image, including any inset maps, profiles, statistical tables, directories, text, illustrations, index maps, legends, or other information associated with the principal map. This map shows features such as roads, drainage, modern and historic walls, historic roads and routes, selected buildings, historic sites and points of interest, and more. Relief is shown by hachures. Includes illustrations, views, notes, and inset of Acropolis. This layer is part of a selection of digitally scanned and georeferenced historic maps from The Harvard Map Collection as part of the Imaging the Urban Environme\nnt project. Maps selected for this project represent major urban areas and cities of the world, at various time periods. These maps typically portray both natural and manmade features at a large scale. These two sheets had been formerly georeferenced themselves, to the following scanned, georeferenced sheets that are part of the 1:50,000 'Soil Map of Greece' series published in 1987 by the Greek Ministry of Agriculture, Directorates of Forest: Athinai-Piraievs [Sheet] 133 (RMS error 3.98682 meters), and Athinai-Koropion [Sheet] 134 (14.73389 meters). The sheets were georeferenced in the Greek Geodetic Reference System (also called the Greek Grid). A world file (.tfwx) and an .aux.xml file were automatically generated and saved in association with the digital TIFF image. See 'Horizontal Accuracy' for the RMS error of this specific TIFF.
