The agency used the CSEDS to provide state energy consumption estimates to members of Congress, Federal and state agencies, and the general public. They also used the CSEDS to provide the historical series necessary for the agency's energy models. The agency used these data to prepare the publication \"State Energy Data Report.\" This series consists of two parts: con\nsumption estimates and price and expenditure estimates. Consumption estimates data is reported for each state and for the U.S. and contains CSEDS physical unit (i.e., short tons, barrels, cubic feet, etc.) and British thermal unit (Btu) consumption data for all years. Consumption estimates are provided by energy source and energy end-use sector or energy activity. State energy price and expenditure data are reported for each state and the U.S. and contain CSEDS prices in nominal dollars per million Btu and expenditures in million nominal dollars for all years. State energy price and expenditure estimates are provided by energy source and energy activity. Energy sources include coal, electricity, natural gas, nuclear electric power, wind, and wood.\n
