The database was designed to provide information for service planning by public transit systems, Federal, state, and local governments, and the public; and for public sector investment decisions by all levels of government. This series contains detailed annual financial an\nd operating data for local public transit agencies. Information in the files include: transit system identification data; contractual relationship data; modes and vehicle summary data for directly operated service and purchased transportation service; capital balance sheet data; sources of public capital assistance and funding data; revenue summary and detail data; sources of public assistance and operating funding data; expense data by function; system summary data by object class; operators' wages, fringe benefits, and pension plan data; transit system service period data; revenue vehicle maintenance and energy use data; transit mileage; and transit employee, safety and security, and service statistics.\n
