This series consists of two types of records: allotment, and permitted and actual grazing. Each record type has forestry information from Forest Service administrative units throughout the United States. The allotment records contain data identifying the location of the grazing area, type of grassland or forest involved, and the acreage of\nopen, closed, and privately-held land. The permitted and actual grazing records detail the type of licenses for ranching in an area, the number of cattle, sheep, and swine present, whether the business is minority owned, and the livestock losses due to poisonous plants, predators, and other factors.\n</p> \t\t    <p> \t\t\tThis data comprises government records extracted from the Archival Research Catalog (ARC).
