This data was used to show trends in public use of and expenditure for health care services, and standards and activities in the health care field, and to aid in the development of public policy. This series consists of data from a social survey that co\nntains individual and household level information on the use of health services, the cost of medical care, and how that cost was met. Information on attitudes concerning health is also available for each head of household. Estimates for hospitalization and health insurance coverage include data gathered from hospitals, employees, and insuring organizations. The data specifically includes doctor, nurse or clinic visits; hospital admissions; demographic characteristics; drug and dental services and expenditures; health of individual at time of interview; attitudes; and health insurance information.\n
