The data was used to assess the costs of similar medical care in different settings and to compare medical care outcomes by treatment costs.  This series contains social survey data from a national sample of the civilian noninstituti\nonalized population. This data includes specific information on demographic characteristics, residence history, health and functional status, and uses of and expenditures on medical care services. It also contains the Health Insurance Employer Survey (HIES) with data on employers and insurance companies responsible for the insurance coverage of the survey respondents.\n</p> \t\t    <p> \t\t\tThis data comprises government records extracted from the Archival Research Catalog (ARC).
