This master index file includes the mine identification number, the company owning the mining operation, the location of the mine, standard industry classification codes for the commodities mined, and the number of shops, preparation plants, and pits associated with the mining\noperation.  The Department of the Interior Bureau of Mines maintained this series during 1972 and early 1973.
