The Asylum Summary Files were created to produce statistical reports on the status of asylum cases. This series contains summary data on the status of asylum cases. Available data include the month and year of the decision, Imm\nigration and Naturalization Service office and district controlling the case, the number of cases pending at the beginning of the fiscal year, number of cases received, number of cases granted asylum, number of individuals granted asylum, number of cases denied asylum, number of cases administratively closed, and number of cases pending at the end of the fiscal year.\n
